SCENIC TRIP: There are several rides that are great for site seeing around Lagos. Some of the most popular are:

Coastal cliffs – This is a short ride (5km – 15km) following the cliffs around the west of Lagos and takes in views of the whole south coast and the famous rock formations around Lagos. It passes a café with spectacular views about 1km before the ride ends, a great place to stop for a drink and relax before heading back to the unit.
Barão woods – A peaceful dirt road ride in a pine forest above Barão de São João (8km – 15km). The area is a natural park with some of the oldest woodland in Portugal. The village at the end of the ride has a nice café to get a drink at on the way home.
Bensafrim loop – A 15km loop on dirt roads in the unspoilt Algarve countryside; a slow easy climb and a short descent make this ride a little more demanding.
Meia Praia loop – A 15km loop setting out from Lagos and following the long beach towards Alvor before heading inland, climbing a hill and coming back through Algarvian farmland.
